Bob moves to Utah..alone… Thanksgiving, Eyre’s Visit, Scouts

Well, the day arrived.  It happened all too fast.  Bob and I drove up to Las Vegas for his brothers graduation from Medical School and then Bob drove the rest of the way up to Spanish Fork to start his new job with Ancestry in Provo.  I flew back to Phoenix.  The next 2 months are a total blur filled with packing, packing and more packing.  Picking up Bob at the airport every weekend and dropping him off Sunday night or Monday morning.

In the meantime I played single parent to 4 crazy kids and tried to keep things as sane as possible (not sure I succeeded in that).  Kids went to school and karate as we tried to get them all to the midyear point and Cameron to his 2nd degree black belt.  It was tough (to put it mildly).  We did get a chance to have some fun though.  We went to the zoo and the science center and over Thanksgiving vacation, the Eyre’s were good enough to come and visit us and give us a little break from the moving insanity.  We visited the mesa temple with them and had a wonderful fun filled week.  We went to the science center with the Eyre’s and hosted a big dinner with Helena and kids and Osborne’s Family and Eyre’s (cook-a-thon buddies).  It was great and we got to celebrate Helena’s birthday!  Let’s see…we had 17 kids for that meal… LOL!  What does the word crazy mean to you???

Bob was able to stay at home that week and work from home which was really great! He got to join us for the zoo with the Eyre’s, so that was really fun!  Gr. Spann came and helped out for several days as we ran kids from here to there and attempted to pack.  Channing sang in his school Christmas concert and did a great job.  Oh ya, and I was still a Bear leader for scouts, so we had that every Wed. night… Ya, it was pretty much insane.  Glad it’s behind us! Whew!

Halloween 2011

What fun Halloween is in Phoenix.  Weather is always great.  We walked around in our flip flops as usual.  There were loads of kids out this year and a decent amount of houses participating.  Channing was a detective, Cameron was Indiana Jones, Cason was Harry Potter and Caelyn was little red riding hood.  We had fun carving Mario into our pumpkin and it turned out great!  You can see Cameron making a lovely face as he helps out with the carving.  He hates the smell of pumpkin. Haha!  We were joined by lots of friends as we went around the neighborhood (which was great since we knew we’d be moving soon).  Helena came with the girls and Francelle came with Sam and Toni.  We ran into the Damanys, the O’Neills, and the Quinos.  It was a very fun night!

Channing’s 10th Birthday and Blake’s Murder Mystery party

Since we had already celebrated Channing’s birthday at Amazing Jake’s with a bunch of friends, we kept it low-key on his actual birthday.  Channing chose to go eat at Olive Garden because that’s where we took him on his 1st Birthday.  He wanted to re-create a picture of himself eating a lemon wedge when he was a baby.  What a funny kid!

After eating dinner the Olive Garden we went to help Blake host his birthday bash at a park by their house.  He invited several friends for a murder mystery evening and Channing and Cameron also attended.  It was a really funny night with teens running around in costumes and snacking on finger foods and drinking sparkling cider/blood orange soda.  It was quite fun and I would dare say everyone had a great time!
