Train them up in the way they should go….ya, this is a hint boys! Go Blue! We spent an afternoon at BYU going to the Carl Bloch exhibit at the Art Museum, listening to BYU Singers (Devin was in there), and going to see Grandpa Paxman’s new digs at work (brand spankin’ new KBYU building in the Marriott Center Parking Lot). The Carl Bloch exhibit was beautiful and the kids seemed fairly interested (looking at paintings isn’t really a little boy activity, but we managed). Gr. Spann told Channing and Cameron about several of the paintings and they seemed genuinely interested and engaged…thankfully).
After the museum, we snuck into a BYU Singers rehearsal so we could watch Devin practice. Since we weren’t in town during a concert, this was the only time we were going to be able to hear the choir and even in rehearsal (singing a brand new song), they sounded fabulous!
Then we headed to the new KBYU studios where Gr. Paxman is an accountant. This new state of the art building and all the equipment in it just amazed us all. We looked at millions of dollars of equipment and amazing set-ups for tv shows, broadcasts and radio gigs. We got to go on a HUGE truck that houses all the needed equipment for on the road broadcasts of football/basketball games. We got to see Gr. Paxman’s new office upstairs on the 3rd floor. In an all glass building, there is a great view of the mountains and the surrounding area. We were so glad that we got to see it! Totally amazing!
