What better place could there possibly be than Disneyland for your birthday? I say, NONE! What a blast! My brother, Derek lives in S. CA and so he joined us for the first day and most of the second day! We hung out with the Miller’s and Paxman’s on Monday and the Eyre’s on Tues, so we got to split our time pretty well so the kids got to hang out with everyone.
On my birthday we ate at the Blue Bayou and rode tons of rides. We went to DLand in the morning and then CA adventure in the afternoon. We saw the Aladdin Show (the genie makes that show – so funny)! We rode the Tower of Terror (Cason and Bob for the first time) – Ari hates that ride, but rode it anyway - heehee. Cameron LOVED California Screamin’ – he was too short to go on it last time we went and he cried, but this time he could ride it and boy was he excited. I love that ride too (ah heck, I love them all)! The boys declared Indiana Jones their favorite this time. They rode it several times! (Cam was too short for that last time as well – this time Cason was the one crying to go on but couldn’t).
Hilarious moments included: a soaked Blake, Grandpa, Chris, Alec, and Cassidy from riding Splash Mtn. (so wet some of them had to go to the hotel to change); Nathan Eyre’s look of terror before the big drop on Splash Mtn. and then his huge grin after he realized that it was actually fun and he lived to tell the tale; Alec’s “Mad Hatter” hat!
We loved the World of Color at CA Adventure. It was really neat! Space Mtn. was as fun as ever and Cason was tall enough to ride this time. Caelyn enjoyed Pirates and Small World and the Haunted Mansion (and she enjoyed some meals on there as well)! LOL! The Christmas lights were beautiful. The boys and I got to see it “snow” the second night on Main Street (Bob took Caelyn back to the hotel to sleep). The last hour we were there, the boys and I used 3 fast passes to ride Indiana Jones with Alec, (Cason went to the Haunted Mansion with Cass and Blake), Thunder Mtn. and Space Mtn. Right before they closed we got into Toy Story. Whew! Way to run kids! Note to self…everyone leaves DLand after the fireworks to go to CA Ad. to see the World of Color!
Our hotel was awesome (Park Vue Inn) and they gave me a balloon bouquet and a mug for my birthday (which sadly got lost at the church the night we got back and went to scouts). They had great cookies too and a gift basket in our room when we arrived – super nice! They also gave me an ice cream cake! Very cool!
It was so much fun to take this trip with family and friends. Like a dream come true! We hope to take another trip to Disneyland in a few years and hopefully some more family can join us next time! (start saving your pennies and nickels)!
