Whoa! Talk about a New Years Party! Celebrated at midnight (EST) :)

A few years ago, my sister had this brilliant idea to celebrate New Years at midnight EST (for the kiddos)!  So we threw a bash this year for whoever we could find that was in town.  There was homemade pizza and soda and lots of good, yummy food, games and great company!  Osbornes, Polks, Lehmans, Scotts, Pullins, and O’Neills all showed up and we had a blast!  The kids played with the wooden planks and we had races to see who could build the tallest tower in 1 or 2 minutes.  Also, who could build the coolest house or the coolest bridge.  We had some great entries and some tears when they fell unexpectedly.  I think the kids could have played with those all night though!  They were a huge hit!

We also played the newspaper game (ripped strips of paper in half – kids vs. adults).  It was a close game and we were amazed by the luck of those kids!  Some would start at the top and rip straight to the bottom without stopping!  It was wild and crazy (as you can imagine).

Finally, when the ball dropped and it was midnight (EST) all the kids went into the backyard and went completely nuts!  We had silly spray and poppers and sparklers.  It was WILD for about 5 minutes!

Then everyone went home and we celebrated new Years again (MST) with the boys (who complained that they didn’t actually get to see the ball drop because we were blocking the tv)! LOL!  Fine, we let them see it and then head to bed.

It was a fun night! We’ll have to do it again!
